Sam - Founder & Head Trainer
The Founder and Head Trainer of Sam's Canine Academy. I work alongside my two dogs, Gus and Phoebe, who assist me as my role model dogs during 1:1 sessions.
My journey into professional dog training began in 2022, inspired by my own dog, Gus, who was struggling with behavioural issues. In the process of helping him, I discovered a genuine passion for dog training. What started as a mission to support Gus quickly grew into a commitment to learning everything I could about behaviour, communication, and effective training techniques. That commitment continues to drive my work today and allows me to help many owners and dogs lead better lives together.
Gus - Head Role Model Dog
Gus, my Tibetan Terrier x Cockapoo, is the reason I became a dog trainer. As a puppy, he struggled with behavioural issues—largely due to my own inexperience at the time. Together, we put in the work to overcome those challenges, and through that process, I learned how to truly support him and build a stronger bond. Today, Gus proudly serves as my Head Role Model dog during training sessions and has played a key role in helping me support hundreds of other dogs and their owners in living calmer, happier lives.
Phoebe - Role Model Dog
Phoebe, my German Shepherd, is the dog I never knew I needed. After completing a mentorship programme, I realised I was ready for the challenge of working with a high-drive, working dog, and that’s when Pheebs came into my life. She had a difficult start, but thankfully found her way to a trusted trainer friend of mine. When the opportunity came to bring her into our family, we knew it was the right decision, and it’s been one of the best we’ve ever made. Since then, Phoebe has taught me so much, not just as a dog owner but as a trainer. Now, she helps me every day in my work, serving as one of my trusted role model dogs in sessions with clients and their dogs.
Anna - Social Media Manager
Meet Anna, our brilliant Social Media Manager. With a strong background in marketing and a natural creative flair, Anna plays a key role in shaping how we communicate and connect with our audience. She manages our social media pages behind the scenes, curating content that’s not only engaging and informative but also fun and relatable for dog owners at every stage of their journey.
